Title: Technical Security Engineer
Reports to: Project Officer
Location: Performance of service required will be performed at the customer’s overseas locations as directed by the Chief and at the customer’s facility, located in Springfield, VA.
Responsibilities:
(a) All Engineers will provide security engineering support to assist the project officers with the analysis and design of communication and security projects. Assist PO in the preparation of design documents to include Security Engineering Reports, Technical Security Upgrade Reports, Technical Security Installation Reports, Scope of Works, Statement of Work, and Concept Design Line drawings.
(b) Review project officers design reports and provide recommendations to ensure the technical security systems meet all applicable guidelines and standards.
(c) Assist project officers in the formulation of a bill of materials (BOM) for communication and security equipment requirements for security upgrade and/or new security installation projects.
(d) Assist project officers in the development of the scope of work (SOW) to be provided to a customer’s mission for infrastructure work, to include but limited too; security
conduit installation, preparation of a System Interface Cabinet (SIC) room, installation of FE/BR doors, installation of communication towers, and installation of active anti-ram
barriers.
(e) Assist project officers with pre-project and post-project on site surveys and inspections.
Experience, Skills and Background required:
The Security Engineer must have an extensive background in technical security equipment. The individual must have a minimum of four years general technical security and security communication equipment experience and at least two years of formal, relevant technical experience.
(a) Verbal and written communication skills; Must be capable of articulating thoughts, ideals, and opposing points of view through all forms of communication with both internal and external government agencies to effectively carry out the duties of this position. Must be proficient in crafting all types of correspondence that reach their target audience with clarity and comprehension to include the senior management level. Must be skillful in giving; briefs, guidance, and assistance on all technical security system issues, policies, procedures, and methodologies, to a diverse audience.
(b) Techincal Security Equipment skills; Must demonstrate sound time management practices to meet deadlines and to exercise efficiency in planning, prioritizing, and accomplishing assigned task relating to technical security engineering. Be proficient in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting CCTV systems, Public Address Systems, Imminent Danger Notification System (IDNS), Alarms, Forced Entry/Ballistic Resistant (FE/BR) Doors/Windows, Walk Through Metal Detectors, X-Ray Machines, Explosive Detection Systems, Systems Interface Cabinet (SIC), and Active/Passive Anti-Ram Barrier Systems. Must be able to properly use all related test equipment in the use of troubleshooting, testing and programming all technical security systems. Must be proficient in reading and understanding wiring diagrams on all technical security systems.
(c) Security Communication skills; Must demonstrate sound time management practices to meet deadlines and to exercise efficiency in planning, prioritizing, and accomplishing assigned task relating to technical security engineering. Be proficient in installing, repairing, programming, and troubleshooting two way radios communication equipment, to include hand-held radios, mobile radios, base stations, and repeaters. Be familiar with Motorola, Kenwood and Codan two-way communication equipment. Ability to develop, design, and implement a two-way security communication promulgation study. Must be able to properly use all related test equipment in the use of troubleshooting, testing and programming all two-way communication equipment. Must be proficient in reading and understanding wiring diagrams for all two-way communication equipment. Must be able to obtain an FCC Maintenance License within 180 days of employment.
Special Requirements of Positions
Physical:
(a) All contractor employees must be able to physically stand, kneel, and bend for long periods of time and have the ability to climb ladders with dexterity in the hands.
(b) All contractor employees must be able to lift a 50 pound item to waist height and must be able to lift a 30 pound item over the head.
(c) All contractor employees must have 20/20 vision with corrective lens if necessary.
(d) All Engineers must have acceptable
Salary range: Negotiable.
Special Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen and must have a Top Secret clearance but a Interim Top Secret clearance will be accepted. |
